As the move to RFID technology in libraries gathers pace, with more applications, products, and software solutions available, it is vitally important to consider the relationship with your supplier. Will they offer valuable advice prior to any changes, how will they support any installation and, if things go wrong, will they be able to keep your service going?
In an independent customer survey*, this year, one company appears to have the trust of its clients in all these areas. 2CQR, library self-service and security specialists, were perceived to offer the best professional advice, were joint winners in after sales support and, in the UK and Ireland, were number one in responding to both hardware and software issues.
Chris Robb, 2CQR’s Managing Director was pleased with the results but cautious “Service and informed, independent advice have always been a priority for 2CQR. Too often innovative technological solutions become the driver, an end in themselves and can be promised regardless of consequences or long term impact. Whilst we have an ongoing programme of development we are conscious that we must consider the reality of implemenation…we must always be “Thinking libraries!””
